Rescue Diver:
Expanding on existing skills and knowledge the Rescue Diver course prepares divers to perform self rescues and rescues on other divers should a dive accident occur. This course not only considers the steps that should be taken should a variety of dive accidents occur but also focuses on how to prevent diver accidents in the first instance. During this course you will learn various skills including:
- How to perform a self rescue
- How to recognize and manage stress in other divers
- Emergency management and equipment
- How to rescue panicked divers
- How to rescue unresponsive divers
This course involves Knowledge development sessions and an exam, confined water training where you will learn how to perform a variety of rescue skills and techniques and 4 open water simulated real life scenarios where you will have the opportunity to put all that you have learned into practice to perform a successful rescue.
Prerequisites:
In order to enroll in the Rescue Diver course you must be
- 15 years or older
- A PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another organization
- Trained and current for first aid and CPR within the previous 24 months. Please see our information about the Emergency First Response CPR and First aid course available.
