Rescue Diver:


Expanding on existing skills and knowledge the Rescue Diver course prepares divers to perform self rescues and rescues on other divers should a dive accident occur. This course not only considers the steps that should be taken should a variety of dive accidents occur but also focuses on how to prevent diver accidents in the first instance.  During this course you will learn various skills including:

  1. How to perform a self rescue
  2. How to recognize and manage stress in other divers
  3. Emergency management and equipment
  4. How to rescue panicked divers
  5. How to rescue unresponsive divers

This course involves Knowledge development sessions and an exam, confined water training where you will learn how to perform a variety of rescue skills and techniques and 4 open water simulated real life scenarios where you will have the opportunity to put all that you have learned into practice to perform a successful rescue.
Prerequisites:
In order to enroll in the Rescue Diver course you must be

    • 15 years or older
    • A PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another organization
    • Trained and current for first aid and CPR within the previous 24 months. Please see our information about the Emergency First Response CPR and First aid course available.
